How we got here
from Bitsa Bernard to Classico Portraits
It started with a 21-year-old Kirstie launching one of Australia's first specialist pet photography studios, Bitsa Bernard Photography, almost 15 years ago. Years later, a stint overseas encouraged a pivot from pets to photographing tourists and their families in Italy's luxury resorts, and Classico Portraits was born.
Now back home, she's built a team around both, and one lesson has held true since.
The best portraits happen when nobody is posing.
Today we photograph dogs, kids and families with either, or both, on the Mornington Peninsula, Bayside and Gippsland. We make portraits built to live on your wall, not buried in a phone.
Because one day, the people and animals in these photographs will be all you have left of this exact version of your life.
We think that's worth doing properly.
